He will be appearing in a light novel I am writing, which will contain some images and occasional manga-pages, but will primarily be text just because I can't afford to commission like 800000000000000000 pages to tell the entire story I want to tell. XD
I will be publishing them on my DA page. I'm waiting on some character art from Eudetenis before posting the first chapter. I have a crummy prologue up right now just as a sort of cosmology introduction. I am probably going to redo it completely later on, or at least make it less of an information dump. XD
It was the outfit worn by "plague doctors" a long time ago. The bird-like "beak" on the mask was filled with pleasant-smelling plants and perfumes and such because they believed at the time that it was the smell of sickness that made one sick, so if they couldn't smell it they'd protected. It didn't really work, of course, but the visual image of these doctors going around to the homes of the plagued like human-sized ravens or scavenging birds is one that has carried on through the years as one strongly associated with death and illness. So it seemed fitting for a death mage who is obssessed with medically investigating all the forms of death in the world and discovering the one "True Death" that can kill anyone or anything -- even destroying the soul itself.
